Academic Exchange Program
NUPACE
Nagoya University Program For Academic Exchange
【Eligibility】
- Students must be enrolled in a degree program at a partner university of Nagoya University. e.g. NC State University, UNC-CH
- Students MUST have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B) or better on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
- NUPACE requires exchange students to be proficient in either English OR Japanese.
【Financial Information】
University Fees:
The payment of tuition fees shall be waived for those students designated as “exchange students”, who are enrolled at
partner institutions with which Nagoya University has concluded tuition waiver agreements either at the university-wide or
inter-departmental level.
Living Expenses:
a) Students residing in Nagoya University accommodation:
Rent/Utilities: ¥30,000 – ¥40,000 per month (Approx. 222USD)
Food: ¥30,000 per month (Approx. 190USD)
Personal Expenses: ¥30,000 per month (Approx. 190USD)
【Scholarship Provisions】
A monthly stipend of ¥80,000 (Approx. 500USD)for between four and eleven months. School of Medicine students engaging in clinical practice may be permitted to receive the scholarship for a period of three months.

NUSIP
Summer Intensive Program at Nagoya University
【Eligibility】
- Applicants MUST be enrolled in universities having concluded academic exchange agreements with Nagoya University at the inter-university level or with the Graduate School of Engineering at the inter-school level. However, a maximum of 5 students from the universities NOT having concluded academic exchange agreements with Nagoya University may join this program.
- Applicants MUST be of senior undergraduate or graduate status during the NUSIP period (including junior undergraduates who are completing their junior program).
- Applicants who are non-native speakers of English should possess a TOEFL score of 550 <CBT =213; iBT=79>, TOEIC score of 730, an IELTS overall band score of 5.5, or the equivalent.

JUACEP
Japan-US-Canada
Advanced Collaborative Education Program
【Eligibility】
The course offers students from the partner universities a chance to participate in research projects at Nagoya University. Currently our partner universities are University of Michigan (UM), UCLA, North Carolina State University (NCSU), New York University (NYU), University of Washington (UW), University of Toronto (UT), and Polytechnique Montréal (PolyMTL).
Program participants must also meet all of the following conditions
- Graduate students who will continue to study and/or get a degree at their home university after the program, or Senior undergraduate students who will enroll in a graduate program at their home university after the program.
- Students must be able to enter and stay in Japan during the program period with visa waiver, or who are eligible to get Japan’s short-term stay visa.
- Students who, upon completion of the program, return to their home university to continue their degree studies.
- Students who have a medical and accident insurance coverage during the program period in Japan.
【Program related fees】
- JUACEP participation fee: 30,000 JPY (Approx. 200USD)
- JUACEP research internship tuition: 44,400 JPY /3 credits (Approx. 280USD)
- Japanese class participation fee (optional): tuition of 14,800 JPY (Approx. 100USD) and 4,000 JPY (Approx. 30USD) for a Japanese textbook
- Campus Personal Liability Insurance: 1,340 JPY (Approx. 10USD)
- Dormitory fee for 10 weeks: 95,000 JPY (Approx. 600USD) at most, including bed linens and Internet access.
【Scholarship Support】
Selected students are eligible to receive a scholarship (80,000 JPY/month for up to 3 months). (Approx. 500USD/month)
However, if they (will) receive any of the following money at the same time, this will not apply.
